Do you hate running out of memory when applying grass textures, foliage or just trying to push your machine to render at a higher resolution??? Yeah. Me too!
And I have just the thing for you... this script allows you output your render in tiles which can later be stitched together with another program (I use photoshop) into a massively larger image than what you could create before.
The preview image is 9000 x 7500... rendered in 9 tiles. I increased my maximum render size for this scene by 3x.
Just make sure to read the note on FG down below.
Run the script it is self explanatory. Just a few things you need to know:
1. compute your FG before hand, and when you do the larger render, select the read only option...
IF YOU DON'T DO THIS, THE TILES WILL COMPUTE INDIVIDUALLY AND IN SOME SITUATIONS YOU WILL BE ABLE TO SEE THE TRANSITIONS BETWEEN THE TILES WHEN YOU STICH THE FINAL IMAGE TOGETHER. ok?
2. I'm in no way half decent at scripting from scratch. I can't get the "save file to location x" script to work... by default the images are saved to your renderassets location. I will try to fix this if there is enough interest in the script. If you can't find your images, search your harddrive for them... I had to do this to discover that the script actually works!
Let me know what you think! I need feedback on this to make it function better.
